Lots of people have experienced acne, especially when they were going through puberty. However, for some people, the acne will scar much more deeply than for others. This can be frustrating for those who don't have the time to leave the house with a full face of makeup every single day. Luckily, there are some home remedies that will be able to reduce the appearance of your acne scars and allow you to not wear makeup with confidence.
1. Try Lemon Juice
Every day, try squeezing a freshly cut lemon onto a cotton ball and then gently working it into your skin by using small circular motions over the scars that you would like to remove. Allow the lemon juice to sit on your skin for between 10 and 15 minutes. Then, use warm water to rinse off the juice. The reason why lemon juice is able to help remove acne scars is because the acid in the juice is a natural skin lightener. By applying the acid to your scars, they will turn lighter in color. You will need to continue using the juice once or twice a day for three to six weeks in order to see any changes.
If you are using lemon juice on your face during the summer, make sure that you take care to apply extra sunscreen because the acid in the juice will make you more prone to getting a sunburn.
2. Try Honey and Aspirin
Another option is to try using honey and aspirin. Similar to lemon juice, honey is also a skin lightener. The aspirin contains salicylic acid, which will help fight any new pimples that might be forming, as well as an anti-inflammatory medication, meaning that if you have any current pimples, the aspirin will reduce their redness. Adding crushed aspirin to the honey will also make the texture of the mixture rougher and make it able to provide light exfoliation. Try crushing up two or three aspirin pills and adding them to two tablespoons of honey. Apply the the mixture to your face and let it sit overnight.
3. Olive Oil
Apply a teaspoon of olive oil to your acne scars and allow it to sit for a half hour in order for the oil to soak in. Olive oil has vitamins and anti-oxidants that will help fight your acne scars and make them less noticeable. Wash off with warm water when you're done.
